NIGA University Announces Inaugural Class

NIGA today announced the opening of admissions for its inaugural class of undergraduate and graduate students, set to enter in August 2026. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis through the spring, with a complete cohort expected across all ten schools and the University's three campuses in Managua, León, and Granada.

University Signs Cooperation Agreement with UNESCO

Chancellor Elena Sandoval and representatives of UNESCO's International Hydrological Programme signed a five-year cooperation agreement establishing joint research, faculty exchange, and student fellowships in water resources, with a particular emphasis on the integrated study of Lake Cocibolca and the freshwater systems of Central America.

Inter-American Development Bank Awards $4.2M Research Grant

The Inter-American Development Bank announced a four-point-two-million-dollar research grant to NIGA's School of Engineering & Sustainable Infrastructure, supporting a multi-year applied research initiative on climate-resilient water infrastructure across the Río San Juan basin, with co-investigators from three partner institutions in the region.
